You may be putting your employees' health at risk
Keep your Pittsburgh employees safe
Have you ever heard the term VOC? If not then you probably don’t know that your copier might be producing them either. VOCs are volatile organic compound. Copiers make VOCs, commonly ozone. Ozone is great when it’s in the sky, but not so good in you or your employees’ lungs. Here are some of the symptoms of ozon inhalation according to WebMD.
- Lung irritation and inflammation.
- Coughing, wheezing, and pain when taking deep breaths.
- Permanent lung damage with repeated exposure.
- Asthma aggravation, higher chances of pneumonia, and decreased lung capacity.
Clearly this is a serious matter. If you want to find out if your copier is producing ozone then you should ask “How much is the corona wire for this copier?” If you find out that it’s an included cost then you have an ozone producer on your hands. You can take steps to keep your office safe, such as keeping your copier away from desks etc, but it’s good to know that it can be a health hazard.
